Let's at least hope it's an RS2000..

If there is something sure about this, it's that this is nowhere near a RS2000.

Yeah it looks a bit off (I'm not thinking about the Mk2 RS2000, or the RS200). Can still be 4x4 though.

I'm checking with the guy who sent me it. But I doubt it. I think the AWD wasn't sold there.

Ass is clearly 90-92 escort, but front is right off an 92-94 model.... With a bunch of not so pretty aftermarkets...

Defo. not an RS2000. Missing the front fender side lips, and if the car's an actual 92-94 it's also missing the rear bumper spats and side skirts, not to mention the entirely wrong rear bumper...

You're being very kind with the "not so pretty".

Also, it has argentinian plates. I think they didn't get the AWD version.

Side indicators sit over the trim line on the EU escorts aswell, so probably something specially made for the market?

Kinja'd!!!

For fun, here's the actual EU facelifted rear with the non-facelift front end. Note rear bumper shape, along with the newer spoiler. Did not know they were sold in argentina!

Once you've seen a Golf 3 with the front grille of an Audi... let's just say you get a new standard of what's bad :P

Nicely pointed. There's always someone here that knows their cars! I have no clue about Escorts.

What I know, is the Escort was sold all over South America (not all countries, but most of the Mercosur I think). This specific generation didn't sell that well, it was famous for being too unreliable and ratty. They were built in the Autolatina times, when VW and Ford had a Joint Venture in South America. So these cars had their VW brothers, the Apollo, Pointer and Logus, which sold a bit better (AFAIK. I might be wrong, though. I couldn't find the exact numbers).

Only knew about the Ford Sierra being made in south american, never did much research for world wide sales of the escort. They are a *bit* ratty, since it isn't excactly top-end models like a similar mercerdes would be, but i'll take a stand and say they're better then the golf's atleast ;) Also since dad races one and have 3 parts cars, it was the only logical choice...

That's awesome! Really awesome! But I must differ. Most cars made in Argentina in the 90's were ratty and badly made altogether. The Escort (and its siblings) were a big hit on launch here. But when problems started showing no one wanted them anymore.

But yeah. I know their fame of being great cars. It is a car that has its history in racing. Look at my avatar, I should know, ahahahah.

Honestly, while the cosworths were awesome car performance wise, i really doubt they were top notch for interior quality and rattles in there... Do note they were built over the mostly stock interior with minors additions, with the bare minimum noise deadening to not hinder performance. They were built to race, not to be a fast luxury cruiser... All the extra sound deadning that was stuffed in one of the RS2000's we have would easily end up being 50kg if not more...
